Paul owned and managed Stocks with his family from 1979 until 2009.
Paul's family can trace their ancestry back to Brittany and the French Huguenots.They arrived in Sark via Cheshire, Surrey and Sussex and the family bought Stocks in 1979.
Paul trained at the world-renowned Westminster Hotel School in London where Jamie Oliver, Antony Worrall-Thompson & Ainsley Harriot also trained. After college Paul worked with Brian Turner and Gary Rhodes at the small, privately owned Capital Hotel next door to Harrods in Knightsbridge, London.
Paul met his wife, Jane, in London and they were married at St Peters Church in Sark in 1990 and they have three children. Paul has been a member of the British Institute of Hospitality for over 40 years.
Paul managed the hotel until 2019 and, having passed this repsonsibility to Dan, he is now responsible for the hotel's marketing and promotion, sharing his passion for Sark with guests and visitors to the island.
