Summer 2020 provisions for Health and hygiene plans and operational limitations.

At Stocks Hotel we want you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as at home. That is why we have adapted the standards and protocols of protection and hygiene of our hotel to ensure the health, safety and welfare or customers and employees.

This year, like many in our industry, we are also restricted on the number of staff we have been able to retain and have onsite.

You will notice some of these initiatives we have taken as soon as you enter, you will barely notice others, but we have reviewed all our procedures so you can feel relaxed and enjoy your stay.

As a result of this we have changed some aspects of what we do, however we have also adjusted our accommodation rates to reflect the changed levels of service in some areas.

General protocols

Our team have reviewed our hotel health & safety procedures.

From reviewing these procedures, we have decided where to reinforce and extend our safety and cleaning protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

We update our procedures, according to the requirements of the Guernsey & Sark authorities and inform our employees of new procedures.

We train our employees in self-protection guidelines and in the use of prevention equipment, as well as in minimizing the risk of contagion both in the workplace and in daily life.

All our staff have hygienic uniforms, cleaned daily by our in-house laundry service.

On your arrival.

To limit contact with reception staff, we will have your registration card ready on arrival. Please could one of your party complete the form whilst the rest of your party remain a reasonable distance away from the general reception area.

When you arrive at the hotel you will have to present a form of identification, to comply with the regulations, and we will explain which bedroom you will be staying in.

During your stay. Reception

You will find hand gel dispensers on arrival in the boot room.

Reception will only be manned from 9.00am till 12.00pm, and at times to coincide with arrival of the boats.

During your stay. Room

Bed linen and towels have been cleaned between 60 and 90ºC in our own industrial laundry facility.

We have reduced the consumables and single use amenities. We would suggest bringing your own toiletries, shampoos, and soaps.

Our staff follow a strict procedure of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety.

During the daily cleaning, you will be asked not to enter the room to maintain social distance.

Turn down service in the evening has been suspended for the near future.

During your stay. Bar and restaurant

The use of hand sanitiser gel is available before entering the bistro.

Dining space will be limited, predominantly due to the reduced staff levels but may also be reorganised if needed to guarantee safety distance and comply with any potential limits on permitted density.

Also, as a result of limited staff we will only be serving meals in our bistro dining area and will have a more reduced menu than usual, although still including a great range and with daily specials depending on supply availability.

Reservations will be required.

Our breakfast buffet items will be available but may be limited, with more of our breakfast selection served from the kitchen.

During your stay. Common areas, swimming pool.

Passage areas are frequently cleaned and disinfected using approved products, paying special attention to those elements with the greatest use and contact (doorknobs, railings, contact surfaces...).

We may need to limit the capacity of the common spaces (bar, bistro terrace, sun bed area...) to ensure distance. Inside the pool the capacity is not limited by distance, but we would ask guests to consider the general advice being given on social distancing and please also ensure you read our pool safety notices.

Sun beds are reserved for our residents only and are not allowed round the pool.

Pool towels will be available for hotel residents in their rooms and we would ask they be returned to your room and not left around the pool.

Pool towels will not be available for non-resident guests, and the pool showers will also not be available for the foreseeable future.

During your stay. Gymnasium, Massage, Horse carriages.

Our usual horse & carriage service will be reduced due to staffing levels and as such will require prior reservations.

Our usual massage service has been suspended and the gymnasium is currently closed to guests.
