Smugglers Bar

The historic old Smugglers Bar is located in the oldest part of the original farmhouse at Stocks.

Dating from 1741, the old oak beams and white-washed walls conjure up memories of bygone days when local pirates and privateers would lure unsuspecting vessels on to the trecherous Sark coastline and plunder their valuable cargoes.

Stories abound of ‘Whisky Galore’ and other dastardly goings on in days of yore. Locals will be pleased to share tall tales and hazy recollections of ye olde Sark folklore in return for a pint – or two – of foaming local Best Bitter!

Today, however, you can rest assured that the duty has been paid on our range of excellent beers, wines, spirits and liqueurs. Including our very own range of home made country wines and Sark liqueurs.
